If–Then Implementation

The Intent

After shaping environments, Integration moves onto behaviour and habits. The If–Then Implementation aims to automate desired behaviour by attaching it to reliable cues already present within your day.

The Practice

Select a specific behaviour or habit that supports your goals, be it a recurring task, reflection, or other actions. Now, identify an existing event or moment that is reliably present every day, such as waking up, finishing breakfast, or turning on your computer. Create a rule: "If [cue], then I will [action]." For example, "If I shut down my computer after work, then I will spend 5 minutes planning tomorrow." Make sure the cue is stable and reliable, and the action small enough to complete even if energy may be low. Repeat this until the cue triggers the desired action without thought.

The Insight

Once your actions follow reliable cues automatically, willpower ceases to be the limiting factor; the habit becomes part of you. This plan integrates alignment into identity, sustaining progress by turning it into reflex.
